Je relance, en ce début d’année, mon contact indonésien à Java qui pourrait nous aider à monter le voyage à Sumatra. Il nous propose notamment deux localités dans le sud-est de l’île. Le voyage semble relativement facile à organiser : vol jusqu’à Jakarta, au nord de Java,  puis traversé par ferry jusqu’à Sumatra. 

Seb voudrait plutôt aller en Sulawesi, pour rencontrer des vendeurs d’insectes, qui sont sur cette île beaucoup plus nombreux qu’à Sumatra. Ne pouvant obtenir de renseignements par la personne avec laquelle nous avons séjourné à Java en novembre 2003, et après avoir fait des recherches sur différents forums, je tombe sur l’adresse e-mail de Yohan BIDA à Makassar (Ujung Pandang)

Les négociations vont se dérouler par mail durant un mois et demi.

                Réception de la première offre de Yohan BIDA. Le programme est très attrayant : voyage et possibilité de collecte depuis Makassar au sud en passant par le pays Toraja jusqu’au centre de l’île (Palu) puis retour en avion vers Makassar.

                Je passe une bonne partie de la journée à chercher des offres de prix intéressante et à prix raisonnables pour arriver jusque sue cette île indonésienne. Les résultats ne sont pas très concluant : plus de 1500 euros. Le vol entre Bali et Makassar est aussi cher que le vol entre Paris et l’Indonésie ! Je renvoie un mail à Yohan pour lui dire que notre projet bas de l’aile.

                Les vols sur les compagnies intérieures indonésiennes sont à prix abordables (110-120 euros). L’espoir de visiter ces contrés éloignées renaît. De plus, Yohan peut se charger d’acheter les billets qui nous seront transmis à l’aéroport de Denpasar (Bali-Indonésie).

     J’essaye maintenant de négocier le prix du séjour comme il est de coutume en Indonésie et d’avoir plus d’informations sur les conditions du voyage et les services qui nous sont proposés.

            At this start of year, I followed up my Indonesian contact in Java, who could help us to plan this journey to Sumatra. He proposed to us notably 2 villages in the southeast of the island. This journey seemed to be relatively easy to organize : a flight to Jakarta, in the north of Java, then a crossing by ferry to Sumatra.

            Séb wanted to go to Sulawesi instead, to meet insect salespeople, who are even more numerous in this island than in Sumatra. Because I couldn't get any information from the person we stayed with in Java in November 2003 and after doing research into various forums, I came across Yohan Bida's e-mail address, who was in Makassar (Ujung Pandang).

            Then the negotiations unfolded by e-mail for one month and a half.

            Receipt of Yohan Bida's first offer. Its programme was very attractive : it concerned the journey and the possibility of a collection from Makassar in the south by going through the country, Toraja, to the center of the island (Palu), then the return journey by plane to Makassar.

            That day I spent much time searching attractive offers with reasonable prices to arrive in that Indonesian island. The results were not very conclusive : more than 1,500 euros. The flight from Bali to Makassar was as expensive as the one from Paris to Indonesia ! I sent again an e-mail to Yohan to tell him that our plan was struggling.

            The prices of the flights with the Indonesian internal airlines were affordable (from 110 to 120 euros). The hopes of visiting those distant regions revived. Furthermore, Yohan could undertake to buy the tickets which would be handed down to us at Denpasar Airport (Bali, Indonesia).

            Then I tried to negotiate the price of the stay, what is a habit in Indonesia, and get more information about the conditions of the journey and the services which were proposed to us.
